2015 COMEDY NIGHT
ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS
Once again, the stress and worry was all for nothing. We had a great turn out and raised money for Helen Devos Childrens Hospital for their pediatric brain cancer research program. Thank you to all our fantastic comedians and our faithful supporters for another successful night. I received a very nice email from Doctor James Fahner which is posted here. Again thank you to everyone who helped this all come together..
“Thanks to the timely and incredibly generous support of TJ’s Dream Team, the Innovative Therapeutics Clinic (ITC) of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital has been able to expand and enhance the groundbreaking work of our Signatures Project, ensuring that children with newly diagnosed childhood brain tumors will be able to take advantage of the most encouraging advances in molecular medicine. By having a complete genetic profile of these most challenging and difficult to treat childhood cancers, like pediatric brain tumors, sarcomas and neuroblastoma, our clinician researchers will be able to offer highly personalized, truly precision medicine approaches to each and every child, bringing expanded possibilities for healing – and hope – for children most in need.”

Ladies Tea/Luncheon to benefit TJ’s Dream Team cancer research
A wonderful time was had by all who attended.. Beautiful tea garden, wonderful food, drinks and most of all, the special ladies who came together to make this event a success. Julie Smith worked her magic with the help of Gloria Reed to create an experience to remember. What a special day made possible, thanks to some very special ladies and friends. And if that weren’t enough, we raised money for brain cancer research. Thank you to all for you hard work, you attendance, and most of all your heartfelt support for our cause.
Hypermiling for TJ’s Dream Team
Our Dear Friend Joni Gray Finkle is competing in this event and has chosen TJ’s Dream Team as the charity that she will be playing for. We won’t be able to be there with her but lets all say a prayer and send positive thoughts her way. No matter what, this is a win/win for TJ’s Dream Team as it will get our name out to so many people that don’t know us or what we are about. THANK YOU JONI from the bottom of our heart we thank you.
Mitsubishi Motors North America is hosting a unique event next week called EXTREME MPG, The Hypermiling Challenge. This event pits three members of the media against one another to see who can achieve the best fuel economy in a 2014 Mirage. Participants will be driving from Las Vegas to our headquarters here in Cypress, Calif. and Mitsubishi will hand the winner a check made out to the charity of his/her choice; $1500 for the winner and $500 each for 2nd and 3rd place.
The three competitors/media members are Aaron Gold (about.com; Charity is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society), Joni Gray (autobytel, vroomgirls.com; Charity is TJ’s Dream for brain cancer) and Mike Austin (Popular Mechanics; Charity is the Wounded Warrior Project).
The event will be televised as a 30-minute feature for the cars.tv platform, which can be viewed on the Verizon Fios network in the Los Angeles area and in syndication in more than 40 cities across America. (airdate tbd)
The competitors are due to arrive in Cypress around 4:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Cedars Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles
Local Charity Fighting To End Brain Cancer
In their effort to make a difference in the fight to end brain cancer, TJ’s Dream Team-Heading for a Cure has made a sizable donation to Cedar’s Sinai Hospital brain cancer research.
A small ceremony took place in the new Maxine Dunitz unit of the research center at Cedars; TJ’s Dream Founder Diane Peacock presented a $5,000 check to Dr. Moise Danielpour and his staff for their work in finding a cure for brain tumors and the end of brain cancer.
The research that Dr. Danielpour and his team have been working on has developed a new platform for creating custom pediatric brain tumor models that can also be used as a preclinical testing platform. Dr. Danielpour goes on about the specifics in how the $5,000 donation from TJ’s Dream Team will be used, “we use different gene mutations found to be present in human tumors and create somatic mutation of the different groups of these mutations to create mouse models and look for new treatments.”
Thanks, in part, to all the money raised by TJ’s Dream Team in 2013, researchers and doctors can continue their hard work towards ending this deadly disease.
TJ’s Dream Team mission is to raise awareness and money toward brain cancer research. The $5,000 donated to Dr. Danielpour and his team is just the first of many goals in the coming year for TJ’s Dream Team. One such goal is to expand our efforts in helping families who have children with tumors and help with such needs as plane tickets, hospital expenses or whatever may be needed. Stay tuned for more details in 2014.
TJ’s Dream Team Founder and CEO Diane Peacock has a heart for helping families and ending brain cancer. Diane was honored by KTLA News in Los Angeles in 2011 with their “Heroes at Home” award and the work they do with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, in honor of TJ’s Dream Team. TJDT wants to give back to the medical professionals and others who worked so hard to save their son TJ’s life; Diane reflects on her gratitude, “these people gave us our son for a few years longer than expected and we want to give back and make an impact in ending this disease”
